MedTech Design & Human Factors Leader

I have led designers and directed Human Factors engineers on medical devices and combination products. I make the implications of design choices visible to engineering, regulatory and business teams before they become costly to reverse.

That work sits where MedTech meets pharma: drug delivery and connected devices for pharma and MedTech clients, then the same approach at global scale inside a pharmaceutical company.

Each stage of my career added a layer: how products are built, how people use them, how teams develop them, and how organisations turn evidence into decisions and practice. I bring those perspectives together in Design and Human Factors leadership.

Product Design Lead, then Design Lead, Healthcare & Medical

Flex, Medical & Healthcare Design Center, 2015–2024.

For more than five years, I led the design team and its projects at the Milan centre, the most senior design role on site, with designers in Milan, in the US and from external studios. I directed Human Factors engineers on projects for pharma and MedTech clients. The work covered drug delivery, combination products, connected devices and wound care, from early client discussions through regulated development.

On every programme, I set what the formative Human Factors studies had to answer, from early concepts to the design taken into summative validation. I reviewed the protocols with the Human Factors engineers who ran them, attended the sessions, bringing the detailed knowledge of the device that shaped their questions, and at times brought in independent specialists to check how the studies were run.

I worked with clients to clarify needs and, where necessary, question whether the brief addressed the right problem. I managed project teams of engineers, regulatory specialists and business owners so that user evidence carried weight in development decisions.

Global Patient-Centered Outcomes Lead

Chiesi Group, Global Medical Affairs, 2025–2026.

I was accountable for a global Patient Outcomes programme under executive sponsorship, across 21 affiliates. My remit covered methodology and governance, training, digital workflows and measurement.

I developed the organisation’s patient-journey methodology into a decision-support framework linking patient evidence with clinical, behavioural, product and operational considerations. I aligned Medical Affairs, Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), Regulatory, R&D and affiliate stakeholders on implementation priorities.

After years working with pharma clients, this was the view from inside. I brought with me a comparison across many companies, which is hard to build from within a single organisation.
